One of the most important factors of fat loss is cardio and most people hate it. That’s because when most people think about cardio they think about the long, slow, agonizing cardio that everyone hates! But since we know that without cardio.. you won’t achieve fat loss, we force ourselves to do it. Unfortunately for us guys, this type of cardio has been proven to be more better promote fat loss in men.

Then there’s the fast cardio that will leave you hunched over and out of breath, then walking wobbly legged and weak in the knees. This type of cardio can be more exciting, but if you’re anything like me.. you hate it just as badly as the long, slow cardio. Congratulations ladies! You girls get to claim this form of cardio as your best choice for fat loss.

Lucky for you readers, I’m going to let you in on a great fat burning secret. Well, its not really a secret.. but I rarely see anyone implementing this form of cardio into their routines. Whenever someone tells me their main goal is fat loss as they proceed to tell me about all the long terrible cardo sessions they’ve been doing and are seeing know results.. I can’t help but wonder, why aren’t they using this?

So..Whats this great fat loss cardio you’re talking about?

HIIT!…Thats right, HIIT… High Intensity Interval Training cardio

HIIT is a form of cardio involving intervals of rapid exercise followed by low intensity exercise repeated several times.

An example of HIIT would be running full speed for 30 seconds, then walking for 60 seconds, then repeat.

HIIT is my favorite way to burn fat. Compared to the long boring carido most people are doing. . its definitely the best way to approach fat loss. Studies show that HIIT is 50% more efficient at burning fat than long, slow boring cardio. Why? because you burn MORE calories, not only while you’re doing your cardio, but long after you step off the treadmill. So even if the treadmill says you only burned 150 calories during your HIIT session don’t worry! Because most of the calories HIIT will make you burn will happen long after you leave the gym.

The cool thing about HIIT is not only is it great for fat loss, but it can be applie to almost any cardio exercise that you are already doing.. Thats right, biking, treadmill, any of those machines you’re already using for cardio can be applied to HIIT.

Below I’m going to provide and explain my favorite HIIT workout that has given me the best fat loss results.

Here is my favorite HIIT workout

Week 1 you will start by sprinting for 30 seconds straight, followed by jogging for 90 seconds. Repeat this 6 times. So once you are done jogging for 90 seconds you go right back to 30 seconds of sprinting, simple right?

Week 2 you sprint 30 seconds straight, followed immediately by 30 seconds of jogging. Notice how it got harder? Week two you don’t get as long of a rest. . (After week 2 you will consider 90 seconds of jogging a rest haha)

By now you should get the idea.. So you’re really only doing  about 12 minutes of cardio, but you’re utilizing those 12 minutes to burn more fat than ever before.

Enjoy watching the lbs of fat melt off!
